Literature Text

You tell me that I'm different than other girls,
And try to make me falter,
But you see I've always known that,
It's a piece of me that cannot alter.

Werido, Emo, Outsider

On your lips the words,
They drip hostility
But me I must not hear the Inflection,
For me it's only originality

So save me your harsh thoughts,
I would not recall them in any case
And remember when you laugh at me,
Radiant beside the masses is my face

I stand alone, unique
In a world less traveled
You blend in, only one of many –
A nice little riddle for you to unravel
ok so this is a random attempt at poetry...One of my quotes just didn't want to stop.
This is my first poem so please try not to be harsh. I realize its not that great - i'm not even sure what type of poetry it's classified as - but i'm open to constructive criticism...

I love the message of the poem! The choice of words is really nice too. It's a great first attempt at poetry!

Just as some constructive criticism: The meter is kind of odd. I don't know if you meant it to be like that, it is very possible considering the theme of the poem, but it goes all over the place. If it was intentional then you could easily consider this free verse poetry and is thus a very creative way of writing this! (Free verse follows no pattern but instead breaks where it seems most natural-The rhyming is the only thing throwing me off this train but free verse can easily still rhyme) If not I could give you some pointers on meter if you like. Its a tricky thing to navigate to be sure.
